The tablet computer is a new kind of computer; it is designed for entertainment and ease of use. They are not designed for working on but for tasks such as web browsing, emailing, listening to music, watching movies, playing games and other light tasks. For these things tablets are fantastic and so if this is all that you use a computer for then they are a brilliant choice as they are so comfortable, light and sleek and also look fantastic too. A tablet computer is just like a normal computer, it has all of the same components on the inside that make it work such as the processor, memory and hard drive. The difference is that they do not have a keyboard like a laptop does and instead use the touch screen functionality with the keys shown on the actual screen. This has the huge advantage of making the tablet much more sleek and allot lighter and so it makes them nicer to use and they also look allot better and so if you are wanting a stylish computer for the home that is easy to use then a tablet is a great option. There is a downside however and that is that a tablet is not designed for lengthy typing and so if you are wanting a computer to do work on that will require allot of typing then a tablet is not a good choice. The fact of the matter is that home computers have a different role than they did not so long ago, it used to be the case that they were mainly for working but nowadays they are very much used for entertainment. Many people just use their computer of whatever type for basic Internet browsing like Facebook or Twitter and Email, managing their music for their MP3 player and watching movies such as DVDs and so if this is the kind of thing you want a computer for then a tablet is ideal as you are not going to be doing a huge amount of typing and can easily enjoy the lighter and sleeker tablet. The other important thing to note about these tablet computers is that they are very much designed for these light tasks and so you cannot install the latest PC game on them or much of the software available for PCs, you are limited to the apps that are available for that tablet. There are thousands available though and so if you are wanting a computer for light use and entertainment then a tablet PC is ideal. If you own a smartphone such as an iPhone or one of the many other smartphones then you will be well aware of how they work and the tablet computers are very much the same. They work in very much the same way with a home screen on which you can arrange all of your apps but they have the huge advantage of the large screen and so enjoying movies and games as well as Internet browsing is so much more enjoyable on a tablet. There are also tablets on the market that are very cheap and these can also often be a good option but be sure to understand what you are buying before you decide on what you need. The cheap tablets usually have an a small amount of memory and are of a lower quality and are just intended for very light use such as basic web browsing but if this is all that you need then the cheap tablets are great! The Google Android operating system also makes them cheaper and it is a very good operating sysem and so this is nothing to worry about. When buying a tablet computer there are a few important things that you should look for and the main ones are the screen size and the amount of storage space that the tablet PC offers. Consider carefully the screen size as you don’t want one that is too big if you are carrying it around allot in say a bag and similarly you do not want a screen that is too small if you are going to be using the tablet allot to watch movies and videos. The storage space is also important as this limits the amount of apps, music, games and photos or videos that you can store on the tablet and this can fill up fast and so getting a tablet with lots of storage space is wise. The storage space is usually stated in Gigabytes (GB) and 16 or 32 Gigabytes is usually plenty.
